Electronic Navigation Workshop

A half day workshop introducing electronic navigation and how best to use it on board.  

The aim of the workshop is to provide students with a basic introduction to the basics of electronic navigation, on-board systems and how to get the best out of your equipment.

The Theory: Your instructor will introduce you to:

  • basics of electronic navigation,
  • creating waypoints,
  • Using the rolling road
  • building routes,
  • Electronic technologies: AIS, RADAR
  • The limitations of electronic systems and
  • the use of apps and tablet/iPad systems

The Practical: Using one of our electronic navigation simulators you will have a go at: 

  • Fixing your position and creating a route

Ability after workshop:

You will be able to correctly plot way points, set up a route and understand the limitations of electronic systems on board.

We run 6 different workshops and you can purchase all 6 at a reduced price – effectively you are buying 5 and getting one free! These offers are availed for single bookings only.

Multiple Bookings

We offer discount prices on all of our courses/workshops when you book for 2 or more people attending the same session. The more people you book for the cheaper the sessions become. These workshops are £60 per/person or £50 p/p when you book for 2 or more. Savings are applied automatically when you select your numbers during the booking process.
