Statement on Training
Greetings from the Compass Team – Jake and I hope that you are all as safe and well as possible.
Stay Safe all – Jake and Kath Scott
What training can we do?
As you will be aware the government have instigated a nationwide lockdown between 5th November and 2nd December inclusive where all non-essentials shops must close their doors. This also includes a range of recreational activity centres.
Most importantly, as ever, is the health and wellbeing of you, our clients, our instructors and of course our families. Therefore whilst we know times will be tough for all we have postponed all face to face practical and shorebased courses through to the start of December.
We hope that you understand that we are committed to ensuring that we not only operate in as safe a manner as we can for staff and students but that we observe all the relevant guidelines including staying at home where possible, preventing gathering with people that you do not live with and leaving home only for essential purposes
What training can we NOT do?
ALL recreational Face to Face training – both shorebased and practical.
No CoC exams are running.
We will consider requests for training from ‘key worker’ groups on a case by case basis – e.g. military, police, law enforcement and commercial users so if you fall into this category call us to discuss your training needs. We cannot guarantee to provide any training during the lockdown period.
This training will be restricted to providing any essential continuation training (i.e. where an existing commercial qualification needs to be updated) this will not include any training for individuals looking to become a commercial skipper. As all swimming pools are closed there will be no Sea Survival training for any students (recreational or commercial).
