Safety Equipment Workshop

The safety equipment required for your boat depends on the length of the boat, the local legislation, and the water’s your sailing. There is a huge range to chose from – our Safety Equipment Workshop aims to provide some help and guidance on what you need to have on board as well as an insight into how all the equipment works and when you should use it

This half day session will cover a range of topics aimed at helping you to understand how best to use your safety equipment, what you need to buy and how you can look after your kit!

The Theory: Your instructor will introduce you to:

  • Lifejackets – types, makes, correct fitting, servicing, general care
  • Flares – Types of flares, which ones to use when, correct stowage and LED flares
  • Beacons – Personal Locator beacons, EPIRBs, SARTs and AIS man over board beacons,
  • Liferafts – types, equipment and liferaft drills 
  • Man over board equipment

Ability after workshop:

You will be able to correctly select and fit a lifejacket, correctly select and use flares, understand the different types of personal and boat beacons and correctly use your liferaft

Workshop Packages

We offer some great pre-paid course/workshop bundles that offer you a great deal usually saving between 5 and 15% off the RRP. We run 6 different workshops and you can purchase all 6 at a reduced price – effectively you are buying 5 and getting one free! These offers are available for single bookings only.

Multiple Bookings

We offer discount prices on all of our courses/workshops when you book for 2 or more people attending the same session. The more people you book for the cheaper the sessions become. These workshops are £60 per/person or £50 p/p when you book for 2 or more. Savings are applied automatically when you select your numbers during the booking process.
