The RNLI offer some great information on how to call for help in an emergency along with the large range of equipment that you can use – all photos are taken from the RNLI website and (c)RNLI.

We always recommend that you set to sea with the most appropriate device for your vessel – a VHF Handheld radio takes up little space and can be used to raise the alarm to both coast stations and other vessels in your vicinity.
